Doctor of Ministry in Advanced Missional Leadership

Certificate in Advanced Pastoral Studies (CAPS) (info)

NEW - GAMMA COHORT
Deadline for applications: Feb. 2, 2009

Entering the Missional Conversation with Dr. Ed Stetzer begins March 23, 2009.

The Doctor of Ministry degree program is designed to prepare men and women for advanced missional leadership so that they can effectively engage postmodern culture. The DMin program requires a Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent from an accredited seminary or graduate school, plus at least three years of full-time ministry experience after completion of an MDiv or ThM degree.

Biblical Seminary’s DMin Program offers the following advantages:

  • Faculty are experienced pastors/practitioners.
  • Students are other ministry professionals.
  • Two one week annual seminars fit busy ministry schedules.
  • Research is done in your ministry context.
  • Final projects are coordinated with the course work
  • A project coach is assigned to each student
  • Ministry application is immediately possible.
  • Learning is done in a team based, cohort environment to maximize holistic personal development.
  • Program requires only six visits to campus and can be completed in 42 months.

Modified Cohort Style:

A COHORT is a group of fellow learners. The student will progress through the program with the cohort. The cohort will meet periodically on line and together, for each of the week long seminars, each six months. Seminar based education, peer learning, field research and interactive skill development are integrated to enhance learning, support and accountability.

PROJECT:
1. The Project will be designed and written throughout the 2 nd and 3rd years.
2. It will be presented to the cohort for feedback at the end of the 6 th module.
(This will require an additional 2 days for the 6 th module.)
3. The final version of the project will be due 6 months after the last day of the 6 th module.
4. A writing coach and project coach will be assigned to each student to facilitate the development of a quality DMin project.

All written work (course work and project work) is required to adhere to APA guidelines.
APA formatting is taught in DM 907 Project Formation.
