Among this year’s graduates: Brother and Sister Jimmy and Lisa Kuo from New Zealand, both receiving the MA in Ministry degree; and mother and daughter Karen and Karissa Kelley, both receiving the MA in Counseling degree.
Basyle (Boz) J. Tchividjian challenged Biblical’s graduating class with the commencement address, “You Have Been Liberated — Go Forth!” based on Galatians 6:14. The 42nd annual commencement ceremony began at 11 a.m. on June 22 at LCBC BranchCreek in Harleysville, PA. Joining him was President David G. Dunbar and President-elect Dr. Frank A. James, III.
Boz, grandson of evangelist Billy Graham, has dedicated his life and career to fulfilling God’s command to “do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with [his] God” (Micah 6:8). He is the founder and executive director of GRACE: Godly Response to Abuse in the Church and law professor at Liberty University.
Prior to his position at Liberty University, Boz was a partner at Landis Graham French, P.A., one of the oldest law firms in Florida. His work there focused on labor and employment law and civil litigation for damages associated with child sexual abuse.
He also worked as Assistant State Attorney for Florida’s 7th Judicial Circuit from 1994-2001. In that role, he developed the sexual crimes division of the Office of State Attorney and prosecuted hundreds of cases involving children. He also lectured for the Florida Prosecuting Attorneys Association and the Florida Conference on Child Abuse.
In addition to his legal work, Boz co-authored Invitation: Billy Graham and the Lives God Touched (2008 Multnomah Press).
In the spirit of Jesus’ words in John 20:21, we hope you joined us as we honor the men and women who have invested in ministry preparation and are now being sent out to follow Jesus into the world.
