Over 70 pastors, educators, and leaders from the Franconia Mennonite Conference gathered at Biblical Seminary on Feb. 17 for lunch and the opportunity to connect with author Conrad Kanagy. Dr. Kanagy, author of Road Signs for the Journey: A Profile of Mennonite Church USA, writes and speaks about the changing realities facing churches in the 21st century. News release.
The next "Conversations in Christianity & Culture" lecture will be Wednesday, May 26 with Andy Crouch, editor of Christianity Today's Christian Vision Project. The title is: "Playing God: Christian Reflections on the Use and Misuse of Power."
Biblical Seminary's first Philadelphia classes began Tuesday, February 16 at Joy in the City, 4455 N. 6th Street, Philadelphia. "Developing Your Ministry Potential," an urban Master of Divinity course, is taught by Rev. Larry Anderson, instructor of practical theology and director of urban initiatives at Biblical.
The course is designed to help students develop the lifelong process of becoming missional Christian leaders. The Philadelphia classes are offered through the seminary's urban Master of Divinity program but are open to all students.
A for credit and audit trip to the Holy Land with instructor Steve Kriss has been postponed. New information will be posted as it becomes available.

John R. Franke, the Lester and Kay Clemens Professor of Missional Theology, contributed the cover story for Christianity Today's December 2009 issue. The article is titled "Still the Way, the Truth, and the Life." A Bible study based on the article called "The Uniqueness of Jesus" is available at ChristianBibleStudies.com.

Alan Hirsch, author and founding director of Forge Mission Training Network, is Biblical Seminary's 2010 commencement speaker.
Alan is also the co-founder of Biblical Seminary's online education partner, Shapevine, and part of the leadership team of Christian Associates, a missional church-planting agency focusing on Western Europe. His book The Shaping of Things to Come (with Michael Frost) is widely considered to be a seminal text on mission. Alan is an adjunct professor at Fuller Seminary and lectures frequently throughout Australia, Europe, and the U.S.
