Biblical Seminary’s Writing Center exists to provide low-cost tutoring in writing to seminary students in all programs. Our writing consultants are all master's or doctoral level graduates of seminary and/or accredited institutions of higher education. They enjoy writing and the process of tutoring others to improve their written work, such as response or reflection papers, journals, sermons, research papers, dissertations, PowerPoint presentations, and other seminary assignments.

How Much Does it Cost?

Cost: $40 per 55 minute session. Payment is due to the writing consultant at the end of the session (cash or check). Phone appointments must mail their payment to the writing consultant promptly after the consultation. Payment for a completed consultation must be received before subsequent appointments are scheduled. Checks should be made payable to Biblical Seminary.

How Do I Get Connected to a Writing Consultant?

Simple. Schedule an appointment with the writing consultant via email. Appointments should be scheduled 2-3 days or more in advance. The writing consultant will respond to your email within 24-48 hours in most cases. A same-day appointment can be arranged, but is not guaranteed. Please show courtesy to your writing consultant by giving ample warning (at least 24 hours) for any cancellation needed.

About Biblical’s Writing Consultants

• Dr. Dan Gottwerth (DMin) has pastored for over 20 years and authored the book It’s A Miracle I’m Still Sick: Growing in Faith When You Don’t Get Healed (2010, Xulon Press).
• Ms. Cathy Holnick has many years of experience as a writer and editor of magazines and other publications.
• Dr. Anthony Hurst (DMin) has a lifelong love of writing. He is a pastor in Philadelphia, an adjunct instructor at Eastern University, and a full time administrator for the social security administration.
• Dr. Paul Dunbar (DMin) is a pastor in Carlisle, PA and an adjunct instructor for Biblical’s ACS program and Eastern University.
