Name of Institution: Biblical Theological Seminary
Founded: 1971
Biblical Seminary began as Biblical School of Theology in 1971 through the shared vision of Dr. Allan A. MacRae, former president of Faith Theological School, and Dr. Jack W. Murray, president of Bible Evangelism, Inc.. Dr. MacRae and his colleagues became the founding faculty and classes began meeting in Hatfield, Pennsylvania. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania granted Biblical the right to grant degrees in 1974; in 1978 the school's name was changed to Biblical Theological Seminary.
Dr. David G. Dunbar was inaugurated as Biblical's third president in 1986. Biblical was accredited by the Middle States Association in 1990 and by the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada in 1995.
